Kimberly Jordan-Gaskins
Kimberly Jordan-Gaskins, a Duke Ellington School of the Arts Songstress, starred in "It Ain't Over Yet" by Dr. Ollie L. Jefferson. Mrs. Jordan-Gaskins was immediately cast for the role, although some questioned the playwright's decision based on her necessary accommodations. There are no edits to the original script that addresses the sensitive issues of childhood and adult obesity. Instead, Dr. Jefferson directed the stage play with cultural sensitivity. Audiences did not realize the actress was sitting throughout the stage play until the final curtain call. Mrs. Jordan-Gaskins used her wheelchair to receive standing ovations as they all cheered with amazement.
Mrs. Jordan-Gaskins is a true professional who went beyond the call of duty behind-the-scenes, even when commuting to rehearsals on public transportation. A while after the production, the actress was barely recognizable when she drove up beside the playwright at a traffic stoplight. The rookie driver looked like a new woman after her tremendous weight loss. She maintained her independence and held the title of Ms. Wheelchair Maryland for women who use a wheelchair 100% of the time. Kimberly Jordan-Gaskins Timeless testimony illustrates there are no limits on- and off-stage.
Timeless Visual Works presented the original stage play with an inspiring community outreach health expo at Bowie State University. Dr. Jefferson desires to support the community in health care and wellness awareness in mind, body, and spirit. During the performance intermission, audiences are educated by healthcare and wellness professionals. Free health screening and vital information are offered to encourage attendees to eat healthily, exercise regularly, embrace healthcare resources, and realize "It Ain’t Over Yet!"
